Leadership Concept... As it applies to me !!!!


A Bit of Introspection!!

Leadership to me means exploring one self and finding those gaps which impede society from growing, and building the bridges which will fill those gaps. 

Leadership is the chance to do Self Introspection and Self reflection, redefine all needs, gather forces, and respond to those needs, constantly and beyond expectation.



How I perceive this? What is leadership to me!!


Analyzing the situation, taking corrective action, and moving on to the next challenge.

I am a good team player and even though I have been this way since childhood, I have recently discovered how important an element this is. It is important to adapt to the other members of the team in business/official scenarios too for achieving good results.

I staunchly believe in committing myself entirely to whatever activity I take up. I also believe that when a person is handling multiple activities he can show his commitment by planning out his activities well. My systematic approach to all the activities I undertake has enabled me to finish my tasks promptly to the satisfaction of my superiors. This has helped me gain the trust of the individuals involved at all levels.

Seeking responsibility and taking responsibility for my actions: 

Searching for ways to guide my organization to new heights. And when things go wrong, I should sooner or later, not blame others.

Morale can be defined as the total satisfaction derived by an individual from his job, his work-group, his superior, the organization he works for and the environment. It generally relates to the feeling of individual’s comfort, happiness and satisfaction.

Nourshing the Team and having Team objectives before individual AspiRaTions


In my Tenure are Cognizant , I was the Single point of Contact for Data migration Applications and where I had an opportunity to assign work and mentor 5 Associate .
 
My Focus is not only in getting the work done but also in making usre that they are learning something at the end of the day.
By constantly encouraging ourselves and by putting in additional efforts, we were able to achieve the target successfully on time. The ecstasy that we relished at the end was exhilarating as we realized the power of team spirit and hard work.

Participative Management :

It  refers to as an open form of management where employees are actively involved in organization’s decision making process. 

The concept is applied by the managers who understand the importance to human intellect and seek a strong relationship with their employees. They understand that the employees are the facilitators who deal directly with the customers and satisfy their needs. 

To beat the competition in market and to stay ahead of the competition, this form of management has been adopted by many organizations.

 They welcome the innovative ideas, concepts and thoughts from the employees and involve them in decision making process. Participative Management can also be termed as ‘Industrial Democracy’, ‘Co-determination’, Employee Involvement’ as well as ‘Participative Decision Making’. 

Inspiring Qualities of effective leadership which I try to aspire

Building Trust and gaining people acceptance in my |leadership . 

This has been   the single most reliable predictor of follower's satisfactions in my team.

Leadership to me stems from mutual respect. Only when there is mutual respect can a true leader flourish. The leader has to gain respect by certain attributes of his.
Leadership is the ability to inspire and motivate a group of people to align their interests and efforts towards a common goal that is beneficial for each person and the wider community.

Leadership is beyond focusing and motivating a group to enable them to achieve and sustain common goals. It involves being accountable and responsible for the group as a whole. It is about providing continuity, momentum, and flexibility in accommodating changes in the course of direction.

Adapting to the Change is crucial

 People who have stereo typed mindset are difficult to leas in this ever changing world.
 
I consider myself to be more of an introvert and restrict myself to people I am more comfortable with. In my first year of MBA I was a part of this youth movement @ NITIE, MAHA MANDI

Taking responsibilities for MahaMandi 2011 and coming out of the clutches and trying to market products , interact , get insights in a positive change and for leader it is very much required. Doing the ground work and understanding the ground rules..

Lead By example


For me, Being a leader means the one who leads by example. Leading from the front and leading by example is what sets a leader apart from his followers, which is why leaders need to be self-disciplined, transparent and objective.

It is the leader's responsibility to raise aspirations, create hopes, deliver performance, drive transformation and lead from the front

For me leadership applies in number of aspects. Currently being a student Leadership applier for following aspects. Student leadership is arguably the most beneficial extracurricular activity a person can perform while in college.Though there are no grades and zero credits to earn, the experience gained from a leadership role will be valuable for a lifetime. A college leader is thrown into a learning environment that encourages hands-on experience. Planning, decision making, communicating, and working as a teammate are all skills that you will build as a student leader.
